Relay For Life!

We are thrilled to announce our school’s participation in Relay For Life, a powerful event in support of the Canadian Cancer Society and their ongoing mission to fund life-saving cancer research and support Canadians affected by cancer.

🌼 Why We Relay

Cancer has touched many of our lives, whether personally or through someone we love. Relay For Life is our way of standing together as a school community to make a difference. Every step we take and every dollar we raise brings us closer to a future without cancer.

🎯 Our Fundraising Goal: $30,000

We’ve set an ambitious goal to raise $30,000, and with your support, we know we can achieve it! All proceeds go directly to the Canadian Cancer Society to fund research, advocacy, and patient support services.

🕯️ Luminary Ceremony

One of the most touching parts of the evening is the Luminary Ceremony, where we come together to honor loved ones we’ve lost, celebrate those who’ve survived, and support those currently facing cancer. It's a moment of reflection, hope, and unity.

Badminton success for a Saint

Sebastian Dumont Shines on the Provincial Stage
Saint Benedict’s very own Sebastian Dumont, a Grade 11 student, has made waves in the regional and provincial badminton scene, leaving an indelible mark on CWOSSA and OFSAA competition this season.

Since Grade 9, Sebastian has exemplified what it means to be a dedicated athlete—consistently elevating his game through discipline, resilience, and a fierce competitive spirit. His efforts came to full fruition this year as he competed in the boys' singles division. After securing 1st place at the District 8 Championships, Sebastian advanced to CWOSSA, where his dominant performance earned him top spot and a coveted place at OFSAA, Ontario’s highest level of high school sport.

At OFSAA, competing among the province's elite, Sebastian advanced to the final day of competition and captured the silver medal in the C flight, placing him among the top 48 boys' singles players in Ontario. Facing intense matches with poise and grit, he represented SAINTS Nation with remarkable class, humility, and sportsmanship.

Although he fell just short in a two-set final, Sebastian’s performance stands as a testament to his relentless work ethic and growth as an athlete. Competing in a gold medal match at OFSAA is an achievement few reach—and Sebastian did so with pride and perseverance.

We are incredibly proud of you, Sebastian, not only for your accomplishments on the court but for the way you carried yourself as a true ambassador of our school. Your journey is inspiring, and we can’t wait to see where it takes you next season.

Congratulations, Sebastian Dumont! SAINTS Nation is behind you all the way.

Calling ALL Saints Athletes!

Our annual Athletic Banquet is taking place on Thursday June 5th. If you were a member of a D8 school team this year, please come and pick up your banquet ticket in the atrium, during both lunch A and B, from Tuesday May 20th through to Monday May 26th. If you have any questions, please reach out to Miss Buhlman.

Varsity girls soccer at UW Tournament

A huge shoutout to our Varsity girls' soccer team for an incredible performance at the University of Waterloo tournament this past Friday! The team battled hard all day, winning their semi-final match in dramatic fashion with penalty kicks and securing a 2nd place finish overall. Everyone got a chance to play and gave it their all.

And that momentum carried into yesterday’s game against Monsignor Doyle, where the team came out on top with a 1-0 victory! Big shoutout to Tanayah Pereira for scoring the winning goal and to Zoe Brown for a clutch performance in net. Our center backs Emily Veldhuyzen and Nyla Resendes were solid on defense, and a special mention goes out to Emma Vandervelde and Mackenzie Young-Cook for working tirelessly in the midfield.

From the librarian’s desk

Hey Bennies – we hope you’re enjoying the sunshine outside and get a chance to relax amid all the stresses of life. It can be hard to balance your time between school, work, family commitments, and recreation, and we hope the library can help you in all these domains.

Tell us about your library experience!

We’re always looking to improve our collections, services, and programs. Do you like studying in the library? Socializing? Borrowing material, or just hanging out? What kind of programs or special events would you like to see? Let us know by filling out this form. Help us create a better library by telling us about your experience today!

Interested in volunteering?

Why not volunteer with the library! Cambridge Public Library volunteers play a vital role in our success, and you’ll get the chance to contribute to your community (and get your 40 hours!). After your volunteer onboarding, you’re able to pick up shifts when they fit your schedule: take as many or few shifts as you like. You can experience all our locations, or stick to just one, and participate in many different tasks, including program support, event set up, shelf reading, and more.

Our Youth Advisory Committee is another great way to contribute to the library. Volunteers on the committee help provide feedback on services, programs, and collections for teens across Cambridge. Help shape your library by joining the YAC today!
