Parent-Student-Teacher Conferencing online booking system goes live today

Book your appointments for next Thursday starting at 3:00pm

After a successful run-through of the online booking system last spring, and the positive feedback from parents about the process, St. Benedict will continue with online bookings for conferencing this year. Teachers have been working to set up their booking forms, and the system will go live at 3:00 this afternoon.
Traditionally, students have gone to their teachers to see what times they have available and have booked appointments with their teachers throughout the day as they traveled from class to class. The process would take, typically, the entire school day, and often involve booking, and sometimes trying to move appointments to either allow more travel time or "tighten up" parents' interview schedule. The online booking system should simplify the process. You will be able to go onto the school website and--with a few clicks--very quickly and easily be able to book appointments yourself.

Period 1 8:00am – 9:00am
Period 2 9:05am – 10:05am
Lunch 10:05am – 10:45am
Period 3 10:50am – 11:50am
Period 4 11:55am – 12:55pm
Buses will depart from the school at 1pm.

Interviews 1:30pm – 4:30pm
Dinner Break 4:30pm – 5:30pm
Interviews 5:30pm – 8:00pm

If you would like to meet with your son's or daughter's administrator or guidance counsellor, you are invited to drop in to the office or guidance whenever it is convenient for you during the interview day.

How to book an interview

STEP 1: Go to the school website

STEP 3: Select your teachers

Staff are grouped by position, and then alphabetically within each employee group. In front of every teacher's name you will see an icon; clicking on the icon takes you to the teacher's personal page.

TIP: Note that clicking on the icon opens the page in a separate
window or tab. You can open all your child's teacher's pages before booking to see when they are all available prior to starting the booking process.

STEP 2: Go to the Staff list page

Hover over About us (or on your phone, click on the down arrow beside About us) and click on Staff List. This will take you to our complete staff listing page.

STEP 4: Make your booking

In the rightmost column of the page you will see the Interview booking section. On the calendar navigate to October 24, scroll down, and you will see available times. Select the time that works best for you, fill in your information including your son's or daughter's name, and click on Book.

If your son's or daughter's teacher does not have any time slots available that would work for you, you can also email teachers directly from their personal page.
"I am excited that we have moved to online booking", says Mr. Milardovic, the initiator of the project, "a survey to parents regarding the pilot last fall garnered nothing but positive responses, and parents were very happy with the full roll-out in the spring. I hope that parents find this process simple and effective. If nothing else, it eliminates students running back and forth between teachers trying to find times that work for their parents, and then only to have those time slots disappear as they are in transit. Parents can book all their appointments at once and they get an email record of all of them with a link they can then put on their personal calendars."
On interview day, watch for the QR codes posted on the exit doors with an invitation to complete the Interview Booking Survey. Your feedback will help us determine what went well, what we need to improve, and what our next steps should be moving forward.
