Catholic Education Week 2020

THURSDAY: Hope for the World

Chaplain's Message

The theme for today is "Hope for the World."

Check out the Pray@Home portal for more good stuff. There are wonderful reflections including one on Greta Thunberg. There are prayers including a movement prayer from our Indigenous sisters and brothers. Check out some music: "Season of Love" (Rent) and "Imagine" (John Lennon). There is a worksheet activity listing hopes and dreams for our world. You might want to make a family pledge for peace.
The reflection and prayer come from the portal.

“Our world” can mean both the earth, as our common home, as well as our global community. These are very interconnected.Only through our awareness of
and support for those most at the mercy of global economic, environmental, and
social forces, can we fashion a world filled with hope.

Jesus, you call many people into discipleship, help us as the Staff of the Waterloo Catholic District School Board to respond to the needs of those in the world who could use our help. So often people lose hope, because they feel alone, or feel they are the only ones who care.
But, we know that fear is overcome by solidarity, and that by working together as part of this faith community, we can live out the promise you made to your disciples, “As long as you did it to the least of these, you did it to me.” Give us strength to work together in your name, for a better world. Through your Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen.

Join us TOMORROW for Mass with His Excellency Bishop Crosby

Mental Health & Well-Being

To support the mental well-being of staff and students, the WCDSB has set up a section on their website titled Mental Health & Well-Being. The section is frequently updated and contains variable resources for staff, students, and parents. The site’s robust resources include timely links to dealing with COVID-19, and provide videos and other resources to help you and your family cope. Visit the site today for video clips, a list of where to get health, and calming strategies as we deal with this global pandemic.
