Clemens Mill Library

Welcome to St. Benedict Library Learning Commons!

St. Benedict Library is part of a unique partnership and shared facility with Clemens Mill Library, a branch of Idea Exchange (Cambridge Public Libraries & Cambridge Art Galleries). It is both a school library and a public library, providing services and materials for students, teachers and the larger community.

What we offer

Resources

Your library offers a wide selection of books, eBooks, audiobooks, magazines, articles, DVDs and music CDS. Search the library catalogue to find the resources you need. The library also has access to large selection of online databases and other online resources.

Immersive Learning Experiences

The library offers one Google Expeditions classroom set for 30 students, a Virtual Reality lab featuring the HTC Vive with many realities to experience. The VR Lab is open during lunch hour and after school.

Mini-Makerspace

Weekly challenges during lunch hour and after school.

CreativeHub Classroom

A bookable classroom for use by teachers in tandem with the VR Lab and/or the Mini-Makerspace as well as Google Expeditions.

Chromebooks

For use in the library only, two hour loan period. Valid student card and Idea Exchange Library card
required.

Quiet Study Area and Laptop Bar

Quiet study in the non-fiction area with outlets for devices.

Meeting Rooms

Two meeting rooms, maximum 5 people, with TV and HDMI cable for devices.

Other Resources

Sports equipment, musical instruments, puzzles, games.

Student expectations

There is no food or drink allowed in the library during school hours.

Students are to be in full uniform in the library.
