Bennies Buddies is a group of student leaders who work to create a warm and inviting experience for grade 9 students. Applications for the next school year come up in June.

Our mission is to empower and guide grade 9 students through high school. We are committed to being positive role models, sharing our school knowledge, and fostering community. By actively engaging with grade 9 students, we aim to enhance their awareness of school activities, provide valuable information, and create a welcoming environment. Through answering questions and offering support, we strive to make grade 9 students feel comfortable, included, and inspired to thrive in our school community. Bennies Buddies is dedicated to fostering connections, building confidence, and ensuring every grade 9 student feels a sense of belonging within our school family.

DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming Oct. 18th

This week, the Doctor & River Song not only have to stop an army of Weeping Angels…they have to stop Amy from being converted into an angel herself!  Join us for the gripping conclusion to our two-part story this week with 2010’s FLESH AND STONE.  The fight for survival begins this Friday, October 18th after school in room 226.  Remember…don’t blink!

DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming Oct. 10th

Have you ever heard of the Weeping Angels?  Prepare for a crash course if you’re one of the few who haven’t…and prepare to find out what happens when you face an army of these quantum-locked stone assassins from the dawn of time.  Join the 11th Doctor, Amy & River Song as they face such an army this week…and come face to face with all sorts of timey-wimey issues…in THE TIME OF ANGELS.  Join us this Thursday (due to the PD Day) October 10th after school in room 226.  And remember…don’t blink!

DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming Oct. 4th

The Doctor’s arch-enemy, the Master, is causing chaos with his Nestene partners & Auton servants.  The entire world’s stock of plastic is now a threat to humanity…can the Doctor stop the threat before the Nestenes invade Earth?  Join us this week to find out as the Doctor & UNIT battle the forces of evil in Parts 3 & 4 of TERROR OF THE AUTONS.  The battle begins this Friday Oct. 4th, after school in room 226.  We will also be hosting our October Prize Raffle.  All new members welcome.

It’s 1971.  The 3rd Doctor is in exile on Earth, working as UNIT’s Scientific Advisor.  In the span of a single day, he will meet his new assistant, prepare to fight a returning alien menace…and come face to face with his one-time best friend & now deadly enemy:  The Master.  Join us this week as we watch Parts 1 & 2 of TERROR OF THE AUTONS — Friday Sept. 27th after school in room 226.  All new members are welcome.

Valentines Day Carnations

Hey Saints!

Do you have a special someone you want to give a Valentine’s this year? Well, this Valentine’s Day, we are doing a carnation sale! Carnation sales will be held February 11th, 12th, and 13th during both Lunch A and Lunch B at the SAC office window. These wonderful flowers will be sent to the student’s homeroom on Friday, February 14th. Be sure you know their homeroom number! Carnations are being sold for 2$ each.

SEMI FORMAL 2025!

Hey Saints!

Get ready for the annual Semi-Formal Dance at St. Benedict’s! This year’s theme is “Night Under The City Lights” and it is on February 20th located at The Museum in Kitchener. For the price of $30 a student, you gain access to amazing catering, a photo booth to take pictures with friends, a live DJ, and the chance to explore all FOUR floors that the museum has to offer! Tickets are available for purchase now through School Cash Online, and upfront payment will not be accepted. Act fast before the tickets sell out, because they are limited!

Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) Scholarship

ERA’s 2025 Scholarship for $1 Million & $100K Dollars

The Electronic Recycling Association (ERA) is excited to announce the return of two scholarship opportunities! The competition runs from January 1st, 2025 to September 30th, 2025 giving you plenty of time to see how many donated devices you can collect.

  1. $1 Million Dollar scholarship – Collect 1 million laptops and smartphones (suitable for donation) Canada-wide, and win.
  2. $100K Dollar scholarship for 100K approved devices

People can ship their items at no charge to ERA, using ERA’s shipping labels, get the items picked up for free from their homes by FedEx, UPS, Canada Post, or direct from an ERA truck if in the appropriate location. Non-approved items will be accepted, but only with a small fee. Items collected that pay the fees will also be counted towards the scholarship count totals.
