DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming Jan. 19th

The last Doctor Who Club of Semester 1 features a battle of wills: the 4th Doctor, Sarah & Harry versus a Sontaran scout, determined to claim an abandoned future Earth for the glory of his warlike empire. Join us this week for THE SONTARAN EXPERIMENT, Friday after school in room 226. After this week, the next club meeting will be on the first Friday of Semester 2.

Western National Scholarships
National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. They are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate’s commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.

For those seeking 1 of 4 nominations for these scholarships, you must see Mr. Betik in guidance by Thursday February 8th, 2024. A 1 page summary demonstrating high achievement in extracurricular activities, commitment to school and community service must be submitted by this date. A new year and a new Doctor: this week we get our first proper introduction to the ball of energy that is Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th Doctor, with Millie Gibson as his new companion, Ruby Sunday. Join us for THE CHURCH ON RUBY ROAD. The new era begins this Friday, after school in room 226.

Eight scholarships worth $5000, and two worth $12,000 this year for area high school students who are community leaders with financial need. (details in the links)
