Open to boys in grade 9 and 10.

Tryouts and practices

Attention all boys interested in trying out for the Junior Boys basketball team. There will be an important meeting in room 312 on Thursday November 4 at lunch. You must attend this meeting to tryout. Tryouts will begin Monday November 15 after school. If you have any questions or can’t attend, please find Mrs. Edwards.

Reminder!! Schulich Leader Scholarships: Science, Technology, Engineering, Math

Up to $120,000

due date extension: now, January 24th, 2024

Criteria: (must meet at least 2 of 3)

  • Academic Excellence
  • Community, Business or Entrepreneurial Leadership
  • Financial Need
  • Pursuing career in STEM; programs in biology or medical are NOT accepted
  • Submit email address, 2 letters of reference to guidance, 1 page summary of leadership/community involvement

DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming Jan. 19th

The last Doctor Who Club of Semester 1 features a battle of wills:  the 4th Doctor, Sarah & Harry versus a Sontaran scout, determined to claim an abandoned future Earth for the glory of his warlike empire.  Join us this week for THE SONTARAN EXPERIMENT, Friday after school in room 226. After this week, the next club meeting will be on the first Friday of Semester 2.

Western National Scholarships

National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. They are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate’s commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.

DOCTOR WHO CLUB: Coming January 12th

A new year and a new Doctor:  this week we get our first proper introduction to the ball of energy that is Ncuti Gatwa’s 15th Doctor, with Millie Gibson as his new companion, Ruby Sunday.  Join us for THE CHURCH ON RUBY ROAD.  The new era begins this Friday, after school in room 226.
