Reminder: Western National Scholarships Program

Western National Scholarships

National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. They are awarded on the basis of outstanding academic performance to candidates who demonstrate ability for creative and innovative thought and a passion for the pursuit of learning. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate’s commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.

For those seeking 1 of 4 nominations for these scholarships, you must see Mr. Betik in guidance by Thursday February 8th, 2024.  A 1 page summary demonstrating high achievement in extracurricular activities, commitment to school and community service must be submitted by this date. (please speak to Mr. Betik for clarification if needed)

Western National Scholarships

National Scholarships are designed to recognize all-round excellence. National Scholarships also recognize exceptional achievement in extracurricular activities such as the arts and athletics. A special emphasis is placed on a candidate’s commitment to community service through ongoing contributions to school and community life.

For the 2023/2024 academic year, the Western National Scholarship Program includes the following scholarships:

of our National Scholarships include:

  • One Neen Hodgins National Entrance Scholarship valued at $80,000
  • One President’s Entrance Scholarship valued at $70,000
  • Four President’s Entrance Scholarships valued at $65,000 and up to 15 more at $50,000
  • Five James Jenkins President’s Entrance Scholarship for Black Students valued at $50,000
  • One Beryl Ivey Continuing Entrance Scholarship valued at $92,000
  • One Neen Hodgins President’s International Entrance Scholarship valued at $80,000 for international (visa) students
  • Three International President’s Entrance Scholarships valued at $50,000 for international (visa) students
  • Up to 15 Faculty Entrance Scholarships valued at $30,000
  • Up to 46 National Scholarship Study Abroad Awards valued up to $5,000
  • Up to 50 National Merit Awards valued at $2,000 for one year
